2018 Chamber Scholarship App Deadline May 7 by 4:00 pm
Scholarship Award: $1000
Purpose:
To support local students to meet the financial obligations of a wide variety of post high school education opportunities.
To develop skilled individuals to fill jobs in Maine.
Eligibility:
Residents of York, Kittery, Eliot, or South Berwick who have or will graduate in the current year of the scholarship from York High School, Traip Academy, Marshwood High School or an accredited home school of studies and are accepted in a post high school program of study. Children of sitting Chamber Board Members are excluded from eligibility.
Application Process There is no application form. Students must submit an essay. Be sure to include name, address, phone number, email address and school at the top.
Essay: Demonstrate your writing ability by providing a single-spaced one page essay on what would encourage you to work and live in Maine after you complete your education. Your essay must be on letter sized paper.
Procedure:
Application deadline is Monday, May 7, 2018 by 4:00pm
The Review Committee will be comprised of Holly Roberts (Chamber Executive Director) and representatives of the Chamber’s Board of Directors. The committee will be reviewing the essays and select three finalists for interviews. Finalists will be notified by email.
The interviews will be held Tuesday, May 15, 2018. The committee will select a scholarship recipient following those interviews.
